BiomassVia2009, a conference that will focus on underutilized logging resources, will take place Wednesday, March 4 through Thursday, March 5 at Lake Superior College in room S1981.

A range of presenters will discuss various topics regarding solutions when it comes to the underutilized logging industry.

Currently, cull wood, commercial thinning and brush land harvest are all items that have a very small market. By coming together, companies, individuals and groups with a need for a supply of biomass for smaller firing requirements will develop a resource base of new fuel.  They will also develop an alliance of supply and need to build a fuel flow to fill a potential demand.
