In a rough economy, students are looking for any leg up that they can get.

Enter Student Success Day.

Attendance at the February 11 event was at 724 – up from 523 students at last fall’s Student Success Day. Whether it’s the economy or simply Lake Superior College students’ individual motives to take advantage of opportunities to arm themselves for success – Student Success Day was certainly a hit.

“Student Success Day has been an excellent way for LSC to give back to the students and be a part of developing our career and life skills,” said Travis Johnson, Student Senate President. “It’s also great to see more and more fellow students take advantage of it.”

Much like the Fall 2008 Student Success Day, various informational workshops were scheduled throughout the day for students to attend. Topics such as personal finance, networking, job hunting, stress relief, scholarships, nutrition provided students with career, life and personal information to use at their discretion. Motivatianal speaker Jane Curry was also on hand, performing at noon and 4:45 p.m.
