UPDATE: HOSA Event Postponed
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been postponed for a later date. The Wave will post the exact date when it is chosen.
What: Minnesota HOSA Challenge Yourself/Knowledge, Skills & Leadership Development
For: Area high school students from Barnum, Moose Lake, Duluth Secondary Technical Center, Proctor and Esko.
When: TBA
Time: 8:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
A little healthy competition here at Lake Superior College could give area high school students involved in the Health Occupations Student of American (HOSA) a big leg up in the real world.
LSC will be hosting the HOSA North Region Competitive Events Day on Friday, January 30. This is a chance for more than 50 high school HOSA students and advisors to practice before the March 23-25 Spring Conference in St. Cloud. The events include knowledge tests in the areas of nursing assistant, medical photography, creative problem solving and interviewing and job seeking skills. There will also be a Knowledge Bowl and a chance to learn about our health care programs.
Also, judges are needed to give the students positive points of view and prepare them for the larger competition in March. Contact Michelle LaPorte at m.laporte@lsc.edu or 529-6278 for information.
