The Murphy Oil Refinery of Superior, Wisconsin has donated a fire truck to Lake Superior College’s Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC).
According to Dave Sarazin, ERTC Director, the 1973 Ford/American C900 Foam Truck is a specialized design for refinery/industrial use. It will be used for a variety of fire program classes, but is especially suited... more »

It’s time to QUIT!
LSC is hosting an eight-week smoking cessation program, Freedom from Smoking.
On Aug. 24, 2009, which is also the first day of the 2009 fall semester, Lake Superior College will become a tobacco-free campus. All tobacco use will be banned at LSC.

Shawn Melton has been hired as a general maintenance worker.
Prior to joining Lake Superior College, Melton worked for several years for the Cambridge-Isanti school district.
In her new position, Melton will be performing general building maintenance during the afternoon shift.

A crowd of nearly 400 Fall Open House attendees moved one step closer to carving out their future last Tuesday afternoon.
“Our Open Houses are our biggest recruitment events…and we had a great showing this week,” said Melissa Leno, LSC’s director of admissions.

More than 500 students took advantage of the Student Success Day on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The day was filled with workshops that discussed topics such as money management, joining clubs, making new friends, broadening horizons by learning about other cultures, being successful in academics and much more.
