The Lake Superior College Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing was – you guessed it – a resounding success.

More than 50 paid sponsors and nearly 80 golfers were on hand at Northland Country Club during the Sept. 8 event. $33,375 was raised – a figure larger than last year, not including the LSCF Online Auction that goes wraps up October 8.

A dinner and awards banquet wrapped up the Golf Outing. The winners of the scramble format were the foursome of Bill Pank, Scott Hanson, Chad Bringe and Scott Bender. Best ball format winners were Ken Johnson, Scott Wolleat, Jim Abelsen and Larry Johnson.

The first-ever “Superior Recognition Award” was presented to 9-year LSCF board member George Lane III for his outstanding efforts.

“Everyone really seemed to enjoy  the day of golfing and finding out more about the Foundation and the role it plays in removing financial barriers that hinder students from succeeding in their educational endeavors,” said LSCF Executive Director Paul Damberg. “Their support really means a lot to a lot of people.”
