Dr. Nelson Appointed to Council of Regional Accrediting Commission
Dr. Kathleen Nelson was elected to serve a two-year term as the Higher Learning Commission’s Board of Trustees representative to the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions’ (CRAC) Board of Directors. CRAC’s board is comprised of the presidents of each of the nation’s six regional accrediting bodies and a representative of each regional Board of Trustees.
CRAC represents the voice of higher education accreditation across regional boundaries and at the national level.
Nelson has just completed a year as the chair of the Higher Learning Commission and will serve in the coming year as past chair. The Higher Learning Commission is the accrediting body for more than 1,100 public and private higher education institutions and serves as the policy and decision-making organization for these colleges’ and universities’ accreditation activities.
