Lee Andresen to Speak at Ironworld

Faculty member and history instructor Lee Andresen will speak on the music of the Vietnman era and other related topics on Saturday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Ironworld in Chisholm, Minnesota in conjunction with the Vietnam “Requiem” photography exhibit, http://www.ironworld.com/events/#requiem In his new bestseller, lee-at-graveside.jpg“Rednecks and Bluenecks: the Politics of Country Music,”? Chris Willman describes Andresen as a leading authority on Vietnam music as well as “a noted collector and curator of Vietnam- related music.”? Andresen traveled to Austin, Texas this winter where he did research at the LBJ Library for his classes about the Vietnam War. (Photo at right: Andresen at LBJ’s grave.) His book, “Battle Notes: the Music of the Vietnam War,” was used for a recent PBS (Public Broadcasting System) documentary “Speak Out: Voices of Protest.”? The second edition of “Battle Notes”? is now being sold in bookstores in New Zealand and South Africa.
