110 Tons of Unplugged Electronics

computers.jpgThe Jan. 26-27 freepublic recycling eventorganized by John’sTwin Ports Recycling and heldat Lake Superior College took in roughly 110 tons of consumer electronics for recycling.All of these electronics will be recycled in either Minnesota or Wisconsin.The City of Duluth’s Office of Sustainability also helped with the event. John Curtis of Twin Ports Recycling reported that they handled about 2,000 cars, with the busiest day onSaturday with about 1,100 cars.

The Union Gospel Mission took infive vans full of donated food and the Red Cross collectedapproximately$5,525 in cash donations.
