Lake Superior College Hosts Fulbright Scholar

Dr. Daniel StavarekLake Superior College (LSC) will host a Fulbright Scholar from the Czech Republic during the 2008 Spring semester. Dr. Daniel Stavarek of Silesian University, School of Business Administration, will teach a course in International Business Practices, assist in the development of new curriculum, and help with LSC’s international student recruitment efforts.

Dr. Stavarek is an associate professor and deputy department head in the Department of Finance at Silesian University’s School of Business Administration in Karvina. He holds bachelor, master and a doctorate degrees in finance and banking. In addition to teaching courses in finance, economics and business, he has traveled extensively as a visiting lecturer at universities and as a conference presenter. His teaching experience includes assignments in the United Kingdom, Turkey and Finland. Stavarek has also published extensively.

The 29-year old scholar will work at Lake Superior College as part of the Fulbright Scholar-in-residence Program. For more information about the Fulbright Scholar Program, visit www.cies.org.
