“Empty Bowl” Throwathon Scheduled at Lake Superior College

Another completed bowl for the Throwathon.Lake Superior College’s ceramics studio will be bursting with activity this Friday and Saturday, November 30 and December 1, as it hosts the 8th annual “Empty Bowl” Throwathon. The Lake Superior College Art Club has announced their plans for a fund-raising activity in support of Duluth’s “Empty Bowl” project, an annual event to raise money for area food shelves. LSC students, staff and invited regional artist plan to make hundreds of ceramic bowls for donation to the fund raiser during the Throwathon.

The completed bowls will be sold along with a delicious variety of soups and breads at the Depot on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Proceeds benefit the Second Harvest/Northern Lakes food bank. Area artists are invited to participate in the Throwathon along with anybody who wants to help with refreshments, cleanup and other duties.
