Rad Tech Hosts Student From Cameroon
LSC’s Radiologic Technology Department has partnered with SMDC to host a
visiting radiologic technologist, Pierre Bouba, who is here for ten weeks from Ngaoudere, Cameroon. Bouba is already a practicing radiologic technologist at the Protestant Hospital in Ngaoudere but is here to learn about different equipment and techniques. “He practicing general radiographic positioning skills with our program students and lab instructor Colleen Coughlan,”explained Nancy Frederickson, director of LSC’s Radiologic Technology Program. “SMDC has been very generous in providing both equipment to the Protestant Hospital in Cameroon and hands-on training.” Bouba trained in Senegal in medical imaging and has been practicing for two years as a radiologic technologist. “We have received ultrasound and mammography equipment from SMDC for our hospital,” said Bouba. “This has been very good for helping our patients.” Pictured left to right: LSC radiologic technology student Donna Sechen with Pierre Bouba.
