Li Ming, President of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA), visited Lake Superior College on Thursday, June 28, as part of his tour of the United States. LSC was selected as part of his travel agenda because of the ongoing relationship the two higher education institutions have developed. GAFA and LSC have engaged in formal and informal faculty and student exchanges since 2003. Students and faculty from GAFA are scheduled to participate in LSC’s International Wood-fired Ceramics Conference during July.

Among the highlights of the visiting dignitaries’ tour was a hands-on wheel throwing demonstration by LSC instructor Dorian Beaulieu.
