The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees has approved the system’s capital bonding request for the 2008 legislative session. Lake Superior College’s $11 million proposal for a new health and science center was ranked #15 on a list of 37 projects that the system is requesting. The facility will house LSC’s nursing and allied health programs, as well as science labs, adding 35,000 square feet to the campus and remodeling another 4,000 square feet.

A second request for $4 million of additional remodeling is among the projects proposed for the 2010 legislative session.

“I’m very pleased with our placement on the system’s bonding list,” said LSC President Kathleen Nelson. “We’re looking forward to making the case for our project at the legislature next year.”
