LSC President to Chair Higher Learning Commission Board of Trustees
Congratulations to Dr. Kathleen Nelson, LSC’s president. She has been elected chair of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Nelson is completing her fourth year as a trustee, a position to which she was elected by her fellow higher education CEOs across the Commission’s 19 states in 2003.
Nelson served for two years as the HLC’s Board Development Committee chair and has just completed a year as the Board’s vice chair/chair elect.
The HLC is the accrediting body for more than 1,100 public and private higher education institutions and serves as the policy and decision-making organization for these colleges’ and universities’ accreditation activities.
