If you’ve ever thought about starting your own business, be sure to attend Lake Superior College’s Entrepreneurial Campus Initiative (ECI) Kick-off, which will be held in the Commons of LSC’s Trinity Road campus on Tuesday, February 27.

Two sessions are scheduled. The first from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. will include a brief program at noon, featuring Greg Benson, guest entrepreneur from TrueRide, Inc. He will talk about his experience creating companies in the Duluth area. The second session will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Billy Shelton, a Duluth-area entrepreneur, will share his entrepreneurial experience during a featured presentation at 5 p.m.

Pizza will be served at both sessions. There will also be a number of display tables in the Commons, providing information from businesses and agencies that support entrepreneurship and promote entrepreneurial activity in the community.

According to event coordinator and faculty member, Jim Drake, the goal is to create a campus that has entrepreneurial spirit at its core.

The LSC Entrepreneurial Campus Initiative will be offering a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies beginning Fall Semester 2007. While the event is intended primarily for current students and other members of the LSC community who are thinking about starting a business, all interested parties are invited to participate free of charge.
