Lake Superior College’s first year building construction students are hard at work on a community service project this week. Approximately 20 students, under the supervision of building construction instructor John Calcaterra, are constructing a new hockey rink for the Duluth Heights Hockey Association.

“This project provides an opportunity for students to test their skills as they contribute to a popular athletic program that serves hundreds of children in the community,”? Calcaterra explained. “It’s a great example of service learning.”?

The hockey association plans to donate $3,000 to the Lake Superior College Foundation toward the establishment of a scholarship program for LSC building construction students.

Utterly amazing, the same name , the same field and only a few hundred miles apart…. Keep up the great work.

I now spend most of my free time teaching my son as well as others the trades, giving others the good feeling of accomplishment that only building can bring.
