New Personal Trainer Program Prepares Students to Take National Certification Exam

Lake Superior College will begin offering a new 30-credit Personal Trainer program spring semester. The program will prepare students to work in a variety of health and fitness settings. It includes instruction in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, health psychology, as well as coursework on various sports and training techniques. Participants will learn to lead and demonstrate safe and effective methods of exercise and motivate individuals to begin and continue healthy behaviors.

The program is also intended to prepare students to take the National Council on Strength and Fitness entry-level certification exam.
