“My Best Friend, Ashley”? by Bre Parsons (Illustration Paragraph)

My best friend Ashley portrays the actions of a true, loyal friend. First off, Ashley has been there to support me, even when it has seemed like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. She has been that light, giving me hope when I have had none. For example, when my grandmother died, Ashley was there holding me up when I couldn’t stand on my own two feet. She not only listened to me and comforted me while I was feeling miserable, but she even made me chocolate chip cookies because she knew they were my favorite.  Secondly, Ashley is a person who I can trust with anything and everything. No matter what was shared, it would stay between us two. An illustration of this was when I relied on Ashley not to tell anyone that my mom might have cancer. I told her about the doctor’s appointments and the concerns that I had if my mother did end up having cancer. Ashley had kept this to herself and was my support as well. Lastly, Ashley is the most reliable person I know. When I ended up at a party where I felt very uncomfortable, I called Ashley. It was three in the morning, but that did not stop her from going out of her way to pick me up. She welcomed me into her house and provided me with a comforting warm bed. I am extremely grateful to have the help and generosity from my best friend, Ashley.
