Make Hip Hop, not war

just kidding - I know that hip hop is not evil.

This graphic was on a billboard in Seoul, Korea. I’m not exactly sure what they’re selling here, but I think it includes two or three different vices. Sounds good to me.

Shown here are two of the examples that I am using with the 4th and 5th grade after-school Tech Club at a local elementary school. Their first assignment is to take a photo and turn it into a poster along the lines of the one shown above, or to create a balloon bubble photo like the one shown below. These are two of the effects available at fd’s Flickr Toys. One thing that I forgot about was that these youngsters have never heard the Todd Rundgren song that the photo above was based on, so I’m going to play the song for them next time just so they don’t think that I’m totally clueless.

At restaurants in Seoul Korea, a “set” means the same thing as a happy meal, or a full meal deal. It’s always a good idea to start your day with a healthy set from Dunkin’ Donuts. Yummy!!

This sign/sculpture was located on the grounds of the Lotte Hotel in Seoul, Korea. Apparently this was their attempt at being a green hotel.

I couldn’t resist this photo from a Pizza Hut in Kowloon, across the harbor from Hong Kong. Sure enough, I waited around for a little while to hear some locals say, “Hey, let’s salad together, and then let’s pizza together, and then let’s cheesecake together!” At least I think that’s what they said.

In Indonesia, the language uses the same roman alphabet as English, which at least gives you a fighting chance at figuring out some of the words. Then they occasionally throw you a bone with a very similar spelling as well.

At this brew house in Saigon they have a great respect for beer, but even better they have a respect for your taste. Respectfully submitted.

Here’s a little sign that was posted on the bulletin board at the EducationUSA office in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is priceless. Teachers are a lot like sharks. They need to keep moving (developing) or they will die. Sounds like a union issue to me. Somebody should be expecting a grievance any day now.
