I love Florida. I feel like I belong here.

Key West sign in Duluth, MN

This shot was taken near the Miller HillĀ  Mall in Duluth on Feb. 11, 2008. Local temperature was 17 below zero. Forecast in Key West today is for a high temp of 76 degrees, a mere 93 degree differential. To make matters worse, their low temp is expected to be 71 degrees.

I keep hearing Jimmy Buffet singing “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes” in the back of my mind. I wonder why that is.

This picture was taken January 30, 2008 in Duluth, MN. The temperature was 20 below zero at the time of the photo. Apparently fall is right around the corner.

Lube Pros sign

The employees have to walk right by this sign every day when they come and go. Don’t you think that someone, sometime would think that it’s time to update the sign?

Definitely good advice. Keep your eyes open for that Avian Flu. Apparently it’s hiding in a suitcase somewhere in Asia.

They’ve been there for over 25 years. Concepcion Picciotto and William Thomas continue to ask the world to give peace a chance. They choose to live across the street from the White House in an effort to convince their neighbors to prefer peace over war. I wonder how it feels to be basically ignored for 25 years.

Last night was the Winterfest celebration at the local university. It was great family fun, with a spelling lesson for my kids thrown in for free. Ouch!

At the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C. you’ll see these signs at the fountain asking people to not throw coins into the water.

Coins will stain the fountain

The photo below was taken in the same spot where I had the pleasure to watch one of the visiting high schoolers toss coins into the fountain.

I wish I had bought one of these.

Make Hip Hop, not war

just kidding - I know that hip hop is not evil.

This graphic was on a billboard in Seoul, Korea. I’m not exactly sure what they’re selling here, but I think it includes two or three different vices. Sounds good to me.
