Regular readers know that I mercilessly berate those crazy sign makers who combine cents signs with decimal points (such as here, and here, as well as here). Last night in rural Douglas County (WI) I came across a sign that combines the dollar sign and the word “cent.” This is a first for me. I know exactly what “.50 cents” means – it means half a penny. I also know exactly what “$.50″ means – it means half a buck.

But what the heck does “$.50 cent” mean? Since they used a singular “cent” rather than plural, I can only guess that this also means half a penny. Those are cheap wings!! Good call.
