Besides the pervasive language and the nudity,I thought American History X was a powerful movie. The film was full of action and conveys issues of hatred regarding racism. Derek had hatred towards other races and ends up killing two black men. While Derek was in prison, he realized his beliefs are wrong and tries to rescue Danny, his younger brother, from following in his footsteps. The same hatred Derek had,Danny received later which cost his life. The world is full of anger, hatred, and racism.I believe the only thing that will change these issues is love.

Description-Dialogue about shopping
Shelly Wuorinen
Section 09
Feb. 10, 2007
Our Horrible Shopping DayIn the summer of 1992, my daughter, Jessica, at the age of three became very ill. She was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic in
Ohio where she was diagnosed with a life-threatening metabolic disease. At the time, Jessica endured pain, psychological evaluation, and many ongoing tests. Because she was suffering from her illness, her dad and I bought her expensive gifts. Eleven years later and healthy, she had become a materialistic teenager. As Jessica matured into a beautiful sixteen- year-old teenager, she grew to like name brand clothes like Abercrombie and Hollister. Her favorite place to shop was the Mall of America in
Bloomington, Minnesota. Since her dad bought Minnesota Twin’s tickets, this was a chance for the family to get away for one day. So, in April 2006, our family decided to go to the Mall of America before the Twin’s game. Instead of the trip being an exciting getaway, the trip was a disaster. We arrived at the Mall of America about 12:00 pm and Jessica was determined to go to one of her favorite stores, Abercrombie and Fitch. Of course her dad and I gave in and let her and her friend, Adrianna, browse in the store. My teenage daughter wanted an $80.00 pair of jeans with holes in them. I told her if she wanted to buy jeans that expensive, she should use her own money. Then I told her, if Mom and Dad are paying for the jeans, she needs to shop at cheaper stores such as Debs or American Eagle. For the second time, I was telling this again when my sixteen-year-old threw a three-year-old tantrum. I finally said, “No.”She said, “But Mom.”I am saying, “No again and this is final.”“But…Mom.”I said, “Stop this behavior, you are making me angry.”Because of Jessica’s attitude, her actions, and her behavior, her friendship with Adrianna dissolved completely.Approximately a year has gone by. Since this incident, Jessica has progressively matured. Even though Jessica was spoiled at a young age, she is beginning to understand that her behavior towards her family was hurtful and unacceptable. Also, she realizes that her behavior resulted in losing her best friend.

According to Colson and Morse, we should pass the Federal Marriage Amendment. I agree that marriage is a building block between a man and a woman. So, same-sex marriage should not be allowed because if the couple decides to adopt or foster children then their children would have a difficult time being accepted by society. We need to address this issue before it gets out of control.

The argument of rather gay marriages should be legal, I will argue it because being married to the same-sex is immoral; it is not the way life should be. Matrimony should be between a man and a woman not gay couples marrying each other. if rights were given to gay people than what could happen next in the world.

Something logical I have done was continuing my education. After being out of high school for eighteen years, I wanted to attend Lake Superior College in Spring of 2004.The challenge would be keeping up with my homework, working 32 hours a week, and raising four children. It is logical to say, that it is never to late to change your mind.

In ” Struggling for Perfection”, Amy L. Beck focuses on the media image of women contributing to domestic abuse and eating disorders. I agree with Beck that the history of abuse and family problems do have something to do with the cause of abuse and eating disorders. There is more to these issues like she said, the media also convinces women that if their apppearance isn’t a certain way, they are not accepted by society. For example, my sister was diagnosed with Anorexia at the age of 13 and she was convinced that she had to be thin to look good. And, the media convinces men that view women as a sex model or look at porn magazines would likely to commit a crime. For this reason, the media has brainwashed us into thinking this way. But, I also agree with Beck that some of us are not affected by the media like others. I believe this because I go according to my standards, not the media’s way.

In “Just Walk on By”, Staples points out that strangers especially women act differently towards him when he goes for a walk. I believe that the strangers shouldn’t carry on about black men looking like criminals. It is not right to stereotype all blackmen as muggers. We should treat them as individuals regardless of color with an open mind.

According to Steve Dalager,” The Truth about M & M’s ” is based on student classifications:the krispie, the Plain, and the Peanut. A student like homer,a Krispie, will not succeed in School because he misses classes and assignments. A Krispie shows no effort. Secondly,a student like Marge,a Plain, loves getting a good grade. A Plain shows some effort. Thirdly,a student like Lisa,a Peanut,is the one that shows passion in their writing. The truth is that we need students to become “Peanuts” so they are successful in their future jobs. I am a Peanut!

i am sitting here thinking of what to write. Now i know. After working night shift, all I can think of is getting some sleep. I was sitting in a patients room for eight hours at St.Mary’s. He was driving me nuts.He pulled his NG tube out of his nose and then he was trying for his chest tube. So, i am ready for bed.
