Welll i have not wrote on my blog for a while. But i have been doing well with the training. I have got in a couple more long runs and i am running 4-5 miles a day and am feeling very good about it all. I take acouple days off the week though because my knees have really been bothering me. I am taking women’s one a day vitiman and i am hoping that is helping a little bit. This last week i have not been running very much either which is probably not very good. I feel like i am in the best shape i have ever been in though. Wish i would have trained hard like this when i ran cross country. I can’t wait until Saturday. I think it will be a fun day and it will feel so good to finish it. That is the best feeling ever! Well good luck to everyone! Have a good and fun race!

Well again i have been pretty busy to blog but the weeks have calmed down. My sister graduated and we had the grad party and its all over with now. I have kept with the running though. The diet kind of sliped with the grad party and all the family around and all the food. How can you resist awesome food? I got another long run in. I ran from hibbing to chisholm. So from my house it was about 10 miles. I was bumbed that i couldn’t make it to th “dress rehersal” for the marathon because i bet it helped out alot. On the week days i ussually run about 4-5 miles but i have stopped taking the protien (which is very stupid) and i have been feeling weaker during my runs. It is amazing what that suff can do. So i am going to start taking it again because i feel so much better. Will the calcium make my knees stronger? I do drink alot of milk and i take tums every now and then that have calcium in them or would it still be good for me to take that calcium pill? another question i have. I heard that it is good to drink milk before you run. is that true? Well i am feeling way more prapared for the marathon and i am excited for it. I am praying for a nice day. It would just stink to run in bad weather. So i hope everybody’s training is going good and we all do good in a couple of weeks!

Well i didn’t write last week because i was busy with moving back home and everything. So now i am back in Chisholm living with my parents during the summer time. I still had time to get my running in though. I have been feeling really good now. My ankle has healed and dosn’t hurt when i run anymore thank god. I finally got in my long run on Sunday. I ran 8 miles and i felt really good but my knee was starting to hurt real bad. I had surgery on my left knee in tenth grade and i think the same thing is going wrong with the right one because it pops and grindes. But i have braces for them and that will hold me through the marathon. I am going to try and ice it more as we get closer to grandmas weekend. I am really bummed that i wont be able to make it to that “dress rehersal” for grandmas. I have my sisters grad party that day and we have a lot of family coming up. But the last couple of weeks i have been following the schedule and been running up to 3 to 4 miles a day. I probably should follow it a little more though. I started taking whey protien and i think it might be helping a little. i am not getting as sore the following day. Thats what it is suppose to help with right? But the marathon is almost here and i am getting pretty excited!

Well this week did not go so well at all! I went out rnning on wednesday and i twisted my ankle and it hurt but yet i kept running on it. So the rest of the week i just rode the bike and iced it and tried to stay off of it. Then on saturday I ran the Thrill on the Hill and boy what a crazy run that was. I did not think that was going to be all up hill like that. I will say it was not much of a Thrill. Well that run was not so nice to my ankle and i kind of was very easy on it and it made my other leg hurt. But it feels like i pulled a bunch of muscles in it. It is really kind if weird. So it was not such a good week and this week it is still hurting so i really don;t know what to do. But this is what i did last week.

Monday: Ran a few miles outside i got a horrible side ache.

Tuesday: I ran about 4 mile on the tredmil

Wednesday: I ran 3 miles and twisted my ankle

Thursday:Â IÂ took the day offÂ

Friday: i rode the bike

Saturday: I ran the Thrill on the Hill. It was very interesting but i am glad i did it

Sunday: i took the day off i was pretty sore.

Well right now i don’t think i am even close to being ready for the marathon and i am getting pretty nervous.  I just hope i can get more into shape and more ready for it this week.

This week went good i still have to work on running farther on sundays. But other then that i got a little bit of distance in the middle of the week. Finals are coming up so it is alot of work to fit everything in with all the homework i have been getting but I manage to fit it in. It kind of helps relax me and get my mind back on track. I saw Katie’s tapes on You Tube and i think that i should really start working on my core and my arms. It will probably help alot. Well this is what i ran

Monday: I ran a couple of miles easy on the tredmil.

Tuesday: I ran about 5 miles on the tredmil and i did the stridouts.

Wednesday: I enjoyed the nice warm day and ran on the boardwalk. It was gorgeous out!

Thursday: I ran 30 min on the tredmil about 3.5 miles

Friday: I took the day off and rode the bike.

Saturday: What an icky day. I drove home and didn’t get to run at all

Sunday: I got about 3 miles in.

so all in all i just have to start getting my longer runs in so i am use to the milage. I am running the thrill on the hill this weekend so i am looking forward to that. I was going to do the 10k but all i heard were bad things about that. So i am just doing the 5k. Hope to see some people there!

Well this week seems like it went alot better then the last couple of weeks. i have been feeling pretty good! I ran the Fitgers 5k in 27 mins. I wish i could have done it a little faster then that but i think i wore to many layers and i over heated a little bit. I had fun though and i am really looking forward to the half. I just love all the excitment and all the people watching! I wish i could find some more races before the Marathon but i don;t think i wil have the time to run any other ones.

My sleep patterns are getting better and i am getting to bed earlier then i was. I am starting to run farther a day and i am feeling really good. I have a goal to try and keep up with my dad during the marathon because i think that he would be very proud of me and we are both pretty competative so he would push me.

So this is what i ran this week

Monday: I took the day off and walked on the boardwalk. It was a very nice day.

Tuesday: I ran about 3 miles outside with a couple of hills.

Wednesday: I went home this day to Chisholm and had some stuff going on so i couldn’t run.

Thursday: I ran about 3 31/2 miles outside.

Friday: I ran about 3 to 4 miles with some more hills. (its kind of hard to escape hills in Duluth)

Saturday: I ran the 5k

Sunday: I took the day off

I am having fun training so far and the weeks are getting closer and closer. Before you know it the day will be here to actually run the race!Â

Well what a week! It was all going good and then we got that storm and i felt guilty not running those couple of days. But it turned out to be a pretty nice day on saturday. This weekend is the Fitger’s race and i am pretty excited about it i have not ran a 5k for a long time. I did pretty much everything on the schedule i slipped a few times though. On Sunday i got hit with some kind of bug and was sick all morning but i am feeling better today. I just walked today and it felt good to be outside on such a nice day! Here is what i did this week

Monday: I ran 3 miles on the tredmil. Ifelt pretty good

Tuesday: I ran about 30 min on the tredmil and and i did 3×80% then i realized we were suppose to do it five times.

Wednesday: I ran 3 miles on the tredmil again

Thursday: I didn’t get off work Until late and i didn’t get to run

Friday: we got the storm but i did sit-ups

Saturday: I ran 4 miles and i am starting to realize the tredmil is getting pretty boring to run on.

Sunday: i got hit witht the flu! (yuck)

Well i feel like i am not progessing for some reason which it could be becaus i have not been feeling the best the past couple of weeks. i feel like i am doing something wrong and i need to be working harder. But i don’t know it could be me.

This week did not go as well as the others. I was really busy and not feeling to well so it was a pretty long week. There was one day where i ran outside and i really need to continue to run outside because i am use to running on the tredmil now and it is way different running outside compared to running on the tredmil. I have always had knee problems when i run. I had surgary on one of them and i was wondering if there is any way of strengthening them? I have noticed the more i run the better they are feeling but when i am done running they just throb and feel swollen. Sao any advice? This week i plan on really pushing myself because i didn’t do so good last week but this is what i did.

Monday: I took the day off.

Tuesday: I ran about 30 min on the tredmil easy.

Wednesday: I ran 3 miles on the trdmil at race pace speed.

Thursday: I took another day off. ( I wasn’t feeling to well)

Friday: I ran outside about 2 miles with some hills.

Saturday and Sunday: I didn’t run

So this was a really bad week as you can see but i think my body needed a little break. I am back on the schedule now and going to work hard this week.

Hello All,

Well this week went good again! I am stating to feel better and in better shape! It actually is starting to become a habbit and i am so glad that it is getting warmer out so that i can run outside and not on the tredmil. I still have not tested my heart rate yet so i have to get on that. My sleeping habbits are still not very good but i am trying to get to bed earlier. I think i need some advice on my diet and what to eat, so this is what i eat usually:

I wake up and i have a bowl of cereal and then i usually don’t have lunch but i will like a quaker bar or something a little bit after i get done with school and then i will go and do my running. Then when i am done with that i will eat a meal like chicken and rice or a hamburger and green beans and then i will have an apple for a snack i cahnge it up with what i eat everyday but there is a idea of how i eat. On weekends i will eat a little bit more. And now i am going to start having protien after i run. is this an ok diet, should i be eating more or less? I need a little help. ha! so here is my run for the week:

Monday: I ran 3 miles because i din’t run on sunday. I ran on the tredmil

Tuesday: I ran 2 miles at a faster pace and that was on the tredmil too.

Wednesday: I ran for 45 mins and i did the stide outs for the last 15 mins.

Thursday:Â I ran the boardwalk and it felt very good to be outside it was sunny and pretty nice out.

Friday: I rode the bike for a half an hour and i did situps.

Saturday:Â I didn’t get time to run.

Sunday: i ran about 4 miles outside and it was nice out.

I am ready for week 3 and i can’t believe that we are already on that week. The marathon will be here before we know it!
