Week 7
Posted on May 7th, 2008 at 3:20 am by rice

Well this week did not go so well at all! I went out rnning on wednesday and i twisted my ankle and it hurt but yet i kept running on it. So the rest of the week i just rode the bike and iced it and tried to stay off of it. Then on saturday I ran the Thrill on the Hill and boy what a crazy run that was. I did not think that was going to be all up hill like that. I will say it was not much of a Thrill. Well that run was not so nice to my ankle and i kind of was very easy on it and it made my other leg hurt. But it feels like i pulled a bunch of muscles in it. It is really kind if weird. So it was not such a good week and this week it is still hurting so i really don;t know what to do. But this is what i did last week.

Monday: Ran a few miles outside i got a horrible side ache.

Tuesday: I ran about 4 mile on the tredmil

Wednesday: I ran 3 miles and twisted my ankle

Thursday: I took the day off

Friday: i rode the bike

Saturday: I ran the Thrill on the Hill. It was very interesting but i am glad i did it

Sunday: i took the day off i was pretty sore.

Well right now i don’t think i am even close to being ready for the marathon and i am getting pretty nervous.  I just hope i can get more into shape and more ready for it this week.

Hey Sam,

Dang! Had I read about your ankle I would have told you NOT to run that crazy race through the mud and yuck! I would have really pushed for you to run the 5k or not at all. Don’t get too discouraged. You have been building fitness and you will not lose it with a few easier days to baby that ankle. Ice it like crazy–Whenever you have 10 mins or so to sit. Wrap it tight with an ace bandage too to limit the swelling. Can you get to a pool? Do you swim or aqua jog. You can stay really fit and even make gains cardio wise in the pool and it is no impact. It could be a good option until that ankle stops bugging you.
