Reading “Struggling for Perfection” was a great example of a cause and effect essay. Women see the magazines and the images and think they need to be just like that. Its just like how we were talking about barbie in class a few weeks ago, women see the cute skinny blonde barbie, and want to be her.
The essay says that 5 percent of women will develop a full-fledged eating disorder, while 15 percent have “substantially disordered eating. I had no idea that the numbers were so high!

I was pretty surprised by this short essay. The essay is basically about a guy being discriminated against while walking around at night. Hes just a normal person and the people he encounters at night are afraid because they think he is following them. It was not only happening at night, but when he was going into work. It’s pretty sad that he had to run all the way to his company so someone could identify him before secruity threw him out.

I found this categorizing essay to be very creative. I never thought you could categorize students by using diffrent types of M&Ms. I hate to admit this but I would categorize myself as a krispie m&m. I don’t put as much effort into my writings as I should.
I liked how he used the peanut to represent a heart because to excel in writing you need to put some heart into it (not just BS). Overall I thought the essay was very creative and well put together.

Well, it looks like spring break is just about over we LSC folks. I really enjoyed the snowstorm because it created an extra long vacation. Otherwise I’m really rushing to get all my assignments done that are due when I come back on tuesday… I should not have waited so long to get started on my communications project.. oh well.
