11 02 2007The Ugly Truth about Beauty by Dave Barry is a short essay showing comparison and contrast between men’s and women’s beauty routines. Dave writes humorous columns for Miami Herald, so the essay had some pretty funny points. The essay is basically saying that women look at their own looks diffrently than men, and that women do so much to make themselves look like super models.
I totally agree with what Dave is trying to say in this essay. I feel that men say that they look average and thats that, on the other hand women will never be happy with themselves. I also agree that men don’t even notice 97 percent of the beauty efforts women make. I’m sure that small three percent is either a new hair style or some type of surgery.
I agree with you on your point of the article. I thought the article was entertaining as well as insightful. I also agree that women will never be happy with themselves.
I agree somewhat with what you are saying. I think that guys don’t really care about what they look like. I think that alot of girls do have self-esteem problems and that’s why they try to make themselves look sexy. Then again their is a very large number of women who just don’t care about what they look like. And there is a large number of men who do care what they look like.
I agree with you but on the other hand there are some women that could care less how they look. I grew up having to fit in so much and developed the attitude of ” I don’t care how I look. If you don’t like what I’m wearing don’t look at me. I never really dressed like really girlish except when I losed over a 140 lbs after I had my son. I was a size 7 and I went out and bought the skimpest clothes I could find and went out dancing. I looked pretty damn good. I thought anyway. Of course my family said I looked sick because they were used to me being 247lbs. I told them to stick it up their a**.
Yea i think men are happy with what they look like and pretty much everything else. On the other hand, women are not happy or satisfied with their appearance. You hit on some good points in your blog and I agree with it all.
