When do most of us ever have the time to go to a payday loan store? Should you go before work at 7 a.m. when most places aren’t open? Or should you do it after you pick up your three kids who are starving for dinner? The possibility of these is doubtful. A more convenient and feasible approach to getting your proverbial “dough” would be to apply for a no fax payday loan. It’s all done online, or over the telephone, and takes just a few minutes. So, if you’re facing a lack of time and money dilemma, log on to Personalmoneystore.com and apply now!

Hi Susan,

I happened to come across Merlot the other day, too, as I was surfing the net. I didn't notice the Journal, so thanks for pointing that out. I'd like to do something with my discussions to make them more effective, and Merlot + the Journal would be good places to start.

Talk to you later...

If you've followed the instructions in the post step-by-step and are still not having luck, I would recommend you contact the LSC HelpDesk. They are wonderful and will walk you through the process.

I am taking medical terminology on line and nobody can show me what I'm doing wrong. The teacher states that she has unlocked and resetted the assignments, but she can't get into them because I'm not saving them under rich text formatting which I have went to that box before. That process worked for the other assignments but she still gives me a zero. Give some feedback tips.!!!Happy 4th

This "mini-discussion" I had planned actually ended up being quite interesting, even as we strayed from our scheduled topic--like so many of our get-togethers, more than heavy pedagogical discussions, faculty seem hungry for little technical online teaching tips like those Susan has posted elsewhere. Just connecting with others teaching online and hearing how we all manage things is surprisingly helpful, and I think we each came away with some new ideas. What fun!

Susan, there is so much helpful information in this blog, and I am guilty of not remembering to check in and read it regularly. I am guessing I'm not the only one, and I wonder about those who might really benefit from this information if they are just reminded--can you put a link to it--or a reminder on the D2L Peer Review homepage, as well as the LSC Online Faculty Lounge, or perhaps an email to the Classlist? You probably did this at the beginning of the year, but I'm thinking a periodic reminder is good, since if I forget, so might others, and we tend not to notice links that have been there awhile if there is not an actual prompt (unless it is just me!) . . .

Great point Susan. I, too, went to a large state school and got very little feedback, and I know instructors at LSC really make it a point to give feedback in multiple ways. Now if we could only get students to read it :)

Hi Susan,
I hope the attendance is good since these sessions sound fabulous. Is there a chance that we could start capturing these presentations for later viewing by those who cannot attend?

Hi Susan,
In addition to instructions for saving as RTF, you probably also want to have the Microsoft Office compatibility pack. That allows us to open a Word 2007 (.docx) document using an older version of Word. Here is the link:

I agree that face-to-face interaction between online students and the instructor can be valuable. Instructors who also teach on campus and hold regular office hours there should most definitely let their online students know when they hold on-campus office hours. Excellent point.

Although I teach entirely online, I live in the Duluth area and let my students know that I'm willing to meet with them in the LSC Virtual Campus Center, if requested (I do not have an office on campus). Still, to add a statement to the rubric making this a requirement, would not be fair to the online faculty members who do not live in this region and do not regularly travel to campus.
