If I could pick anyone to interview it would be Vito Genovese…or better known as Lucky Luciano. He is one of the most powerful Italian based mobsters in American history. I think that the history and the reason behind the Mafia is very interesting and that there is more to the story than meets the eye. Since Lucky Luciano was one of the largest Mafia bosses I think that he could give me the most information on why he did what he did. He could give me information on not only the history of the Mafia but also history of Italy and its politics. I would ask him how he got into the buisness and how he made it to the top as one of the most respected amoungst the mafia community. I would ask him why he thought it was important to be apart of the Mafia and how it changed his life. I guess the biggest questions would be what it ment to be apart of the Mafia, what you had to do and is it worth it? What is the real reason behind it?
I think that it would be great to be able to see a side of Italys history from the eyes of the Mafia. They started this organization because of the government in Italy. The government was not paying attention to the south and so the southern Italians thought they needed to take it into their own hands and do something about this. It would be a great look into the past and the culture of Italy. This is not a lifestyle that I am familiar with and I would love to get a peek into the lifestyle of a Mafia king.
