LSC’s Third Annual Car Show May 16

(Duluth, Minn.)  — The Lake Superior College Auto Club will hold its third annual Car Show and Alumni Event from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.  This event will take place in the lower west parking lot of the college’s Trinity Road campus and in the Automotive Program area.

Activities include a car corral, swap meet, door prizes, music and auto service and auto body demonstrations.  A number of high-end race cars will be on display inside the building.  Plaques will be awarded in 20 different classes and a trophy will also be awarded to the most eco-friendly vehicle entered.

The car show is free and open to the public.  Swap meet and car corral spots are also free.  Donations for local food shelves will be collected.  Vehicle registration is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and awards will be presented at 3:45 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

“Thrill on the Hill” Fund Run May 2

Thrill on the Hill Logo(Duluth, Minn.)  – The third annual Lake Superior College “Thrill on the Hill” Fund Run for runners and walkers will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.

The “Thrill on the Hill” walk/run traverses a beautiful course through the neighborhoods surrounding Lake Superior College and showcases vistas of the Duluth Harbor and St. Louis Bay.  The racecourse includes parts of the LSC campus, Trinity and Hutchinson Roads, and the Piedmont Ski Trails.

The event includes a 5k run/walk and a 10k hybrid run which features a half road/half trail run.  A Husky Dash kid’s race is free for kids ages ten and under and starts at 11:30 a.m.  The  race is organized by the Lake Superior College Foundation and the LSC Alumni Association.

The early registration fee is $20; Race day registration is $25; the Kids Race is free.  The first 250 entrants will receive a “Thrill on the Hill” T-shirt. Race packets will be available from 8-9 a.m. in the Lake Superior College main concourse.  A free post-race meal for participants will be provided by Upper Lakes Foods.  All race proceeds will benefit the Lake Superior College Foundation’s general scholarship fund.
