Hunt Family Expands Scholarship Fund at Lake Superior College with a $30,000 Endowment Gift

August 14th, 2008 by Gary Kruchowski

(Duluth, Minn.) — The Lake Superior College (LSC) Foundation has received $30,000 from the Hunt family to expand their current endowed scholarship fund. The Hunt Family Scholarship Fund, established in 2006, will provide a $2,000 scholarship for a full-time student each academic year.

“We appreciate the Hunt family’s continuing generosity and belief in higher education,” said Paul Damberg, executive director of the Lake Superior College Foundation. “This means that a deserving student will receive a significant scholarship each year.”

“Our family believes in education but not in the debt that it creates for many people,” said Lynn Hunt. “We hope that this gift will allow students to be less debt-ridden and freer to follow their path. In turn, they can help others by passing it on.”

Based in Pine River, Minnesota, Lynn and Paul Hunt, owners of Hunt Utilities Group, LLC, www.hugllc.com, are eco-minded philanthropic entrepreneurs exploring and developing systems that support ecological living. Paul and Lynn Hunt also founded Happy Dancing Turtle, www.happydancingturtle.org, a
non-profit organization that focuses on sustainable living education and research.

The mission of the Lake Superior College Foundation is to support the educational, cultural, and service goals of Lake Superior College by acting as its designated friend and fund-raiser.
