Engl 1106 09
Over the past semester English 1106 has helped me on my way to becoming a better writer. I have learned new things, and have worked on things that already knew. My hard work over the past semester has paid off, and I know that it will pay off for me in the future.
I have learned many new things over the past semester. Learning how to write a strong thesis statement has been the best thing that I have learned. I had trouble with the thesis statement too. I was writing some of my thesis statements to vague. I started to correct it toward the end of the semester. I have also learned things such as correcting my run-on sentences, not to put “you” in essays, and how important proof reading is.
I have written five essays throughout this semester. Of all the five I would say that the narrative essay is my favorite. I wrote about one of my close friends that passed away when we were 15. I felt that it was my overall best piece, and I enjoyed writing about it. The accident happened 4 years ago, and I felt that writing this piece helped the grieving process. I would say my least favorite piece would be the cause and effect essay. I really had some trouble writing that essay.
Writing essays is a tough thing for me. I tend to leave a lot of errors in my essays. Peer review helped me out a lot. It helped me find the errors in my essay. I find that I had trouble spotting my errors when I proof read them. When other people read my essays, and showed me where some errors were it was a great help.
English 1106 is a fun and interesting class. I have learned many new things, and have also corrected some old things that I have had trouble with. I have learned how important having proper grammar and being able to write an essay is. I have developed as a writer in many ways, and I know that this class will help me out in the future.
