I thought American History X was a great movie.  It showed many important things that college students should learn.  You should have hate for someone just because of their skin color.  I especially liked how Derek’s friendship with an African-American while in prison changed his perspective on life.  I wished Danny wouldn’t have passed away at the end of the movie from being shot.  I really wonder what happened to Derek after that tradgic incident.  I am going to watch the full movie soon to see what happened in thewhole movie.

This article showed many valid points. Brent Staples should have every right in being angry with the way he was treated.  Most of the incidents he stated in this article happened in the 70’s and 80’s but I am sure they are still happening in the world today.  I couldn’t imagine walking down the street and having someone literally run away from me because of the way that I look.  I can’t even pretend to know how that feels because nothing like that has ever happened to me.  It has to be tough to grow up and keep away from trouble, attend college, and still be thought of as a mugger, rapists, or worse just because you were walking down a street at night. 

I thought this article was very interesting.  Anorexia and Bulimia is a huge problem in America.  Seeing that first hand by working in a hospital would make anyone realize that.  I do believe that the media plays a huge role in people becoming anorexic or bulimic.  I also believe that the media world will never change or at least it won’t in my lifetime.  Rape is also a big problem.  I found it shocking that in a case Amy talked about where a patient’s boyfriend made her have with five of his friends on a frequent basis.  I can’t being a yound teen and put in that position.  I find it amazing for victims to pull through and continue their life.  I know it takes a lot of work and I’m not sure I would be able to do that.  Amy Beck wrote an amazing article and showed us many important things that I normally don’t think in any given day.

I thought “The Truth about M&Ms” was a great story.  I believe it is a fair description of a class.  In every class you’ll have the krispie, plain, and peanut type of m&m.  Reading this story made me wonder what kind of m&m I am.  For this class I believe I would fall under the plain type.  I do want to learn to write better but I also am just wanting to get by.  Although in my algebra class I am probable the krispie type.  I have found myself falling so far behind in that class I dont know if I will ever come out with a passing grade.  Hopefully I will cool down on the partying on friday and saturday nights and maybe just sit at home and do so much needed homework.  Lets just hope I pass my class and hopefully next class I have I can be the peanut type.

My spring break wasn’t as fun as I wanted it to be.  During the week off I didn’t absolutely nothing but work from 4 to midnight, Monday through Thursday.  On friday however, I decided to call in and hang out with some buddies. We hung out all day and planned to go see the movie 300.  It didn’t happen.  We partied instead and had a lot of fun.  The next day we woke up at about noon.  I wasn’t feel good at all.  I might have partied a little too hard the night before.  When we woke up we went to eat at perkins.  I didn’t eat much of my food for a good reason.  After we were done eating we went back to my buddies house where I passed out until five in the afternoon.  When I woke up I pretty much sat around until about 9 when we went and got something to eat.  At about 10:30 we decided to start partying again.  We went to a party and got pretty messed up.  I believe we got back home at about 6 a.m.   I again slept my day away by waking up at 2 in the afternoon on Sunday.  Sunday was a pretty bad day.  I was tired and didn’t want to do anything.  Well that was recap of the most exciting part of my spring break.  Hopefully next year I will be somewhere warm.  I would like to be in Cancun, Mexico.

I don’t really like blogging because we have to do it so much.  I run out of things to write about because I really don’t have that many thoughts.  I’m not really looking forward to going to work tonight, but it is that last day before I have the weekend off.  I am not really sure what I am going to do this weekend but hopefully I will find a party to go to.  I got my tax refunds back the other day and received $2,000 dollars.  So naturally I had to spend some of it right away.  I decided to go and buy a laptop; it was a Dell Inspiron 1501.  It is pretty nice but I regret spending the amount of money that I did.  School is going pretty well for me.  I am finding myself becoming burried in the amount of algebra homework that I have.  I am excited to graduate and get a real job that pays well.  I can’t believe that in a couple years I will have to get a real job.  I haven’t decided if I am going to stay around here or not.  I would like to move out west; preferably California.  Going down south would be nice to.  If I go down south I would definatly go somewhere in Florida.  The only drawback on Florida is all the hurricanes.  San Diego or Sacremento sounds nice.  Well I am now out of thoughts so I’ll leave it at this.

In this blog I decided to blog about who I am.  My full Name is Michael Steven Abrahamzon.  I am 19 years old, and was born on May 7th, 1987.  My family consists of my mother, father, sister, and my neice.  My mom and dad are both 50 years old.  My sister is 25 and her daughter is 1 1/2 years old.  I currently live in a small town called South Range.  It is located about 10 from Superior, Wisconsin.  I basically revolve my life around sports.  There is no better day than sitting at home watching a football game with some buddies.  Some other things that I enjoy are playing the occasional video game, watching heroes, reading a Harry Potter book, watching seinfeld and friends over and over again, and partying every single weekend.  I am currently going to school part time and working full time, but plan to go to school full time next semester.  Well that is pretty much who I am.

In the Ugly Truth About Beauty I think the author makes very valid points.   I believe he is correct in saying that women care about how they look more than men do.  Reading this article made me think about a comic strip I saw a couple months ago.  In the comic strip there was a obese man and a skinny, attractice woman.  The man and woman were both looking into two different mirrors.  When the obese man looked into the mirror he saw a man that was in shape and handsome.  When the skinny, attractice woman looked into the mirror she saw an obese woman.  I believe the author is stating the exact same concept in this article. I do however believe that some men care about their appearance(probably a very small percent of the male population).  From the mens point of view I believe the author was correct.  From the womens point of view I don’t know.  I am sure women do care about their appearance more than men but I don’t think that there is anything wrong with that.  The author states that men don’t notice 97% of the beauty efforts made by women.  The author probably is correct in saying that men don’t notice them, but why should women stop doing them just because men dont notice them.  If they feel they look better with their nails done than I feel they should get their nails done.  The more they can do to make themselves feel better about themselves the better, but I feel they should have a high self-esteem.  All in all I believe the other wrote a great article and made some valid points from the men side.  I can also see where he would have trouble understanding how women feel about their appearance and that is where his weakness in this essay is.

I’m not too sure on what to write about so I will write about my past weekend.  This past weekend I did absolutely nothing but hang out with friends and party.  On Saturday I went to a friends house in Superior and hung out.  Later that night we went to a party.  It was a fun night and I had enjoyed myself.  We didn’t get back home until 6 in the morning so needless to say I slept late on Sunday.  When I woke up on Sunday afternoon I watched a couple movies until the Super Bowl started.  I had a lot of money on the game and if Vinniterri had made the field goal before half time I would be up $2000.  I was again partying that night to let of some anger and was up agian till 6 in the morning.  Monday went by in a blur and before I knew my weekend was over.  All in all I had a good, long weekend.
