Essay 5.2

Description: Fight back and stand up for yourself. 

Enough 

            While I was growing up I lived next door to my friend’s house. Her mom was constantly abused by her dad. I never did question my friend what went wrong between her parents. Some people go through life being abused; don’t matter whether they’re kids or adults.   

         The movie I picked is called “Enough,” played by Jennifer Lopez. She is the victim being abused by her husband. She thought she met Mr. Right and then married him and had a child with him. Their life was just like she has always dreamed about. It all went perfect until she realized that he was always working late at night. That was when she found out he was having an affair. J-Lo couldn’t take it anymore and decided, it’s about time she should do something about it, and so she confronted him.        

    The reason I picked this movie is because almost every marry couples and kids go through life being abused by their parents or spouses. Some college students who are married are still young. They don’t have time to be around with their husband or wife because of school work. That’s when the misunderstanding come between these marry college students. That’s leads to arguments and abusing. Being abused is part of life and its scary just thinking about it. Sometimes, life isn’t fair for those who have been abused by their love ones. Personally, I have not been through this process of being a victim, and I certainly do not want to go through that stage. I wouldn’t know what to do and what to think about just like those who have been abused.        

    I also think that kids who grow up being abused by their parents will end up going on the run. Some may even grow up being bad teenagers and will end up doing things they shouldn’t be doing such as stealing, fighting, and doing drugs. It also goes for spouses who abuse one another too. The husband or wife can even leave one another behind with their kids. They may even end up being drug addicts or alcoholics and leave their kids behind or alone at home feeling hungry with nothing to eat. I have witness this myself with my own eyes. I now have a friend who lives three to four blocks away from me. She stays with her dad. Her parents got a divorce when she was ten years old. Her dad is an alcoholic. He spends money on beer everyday. They hardly have food to eat. Some kids who have been abused grow up being the smartest kids on earth. Or, they maybe successful in life just like David Pelzer. Who wrote a book called, “A Child called it” base on his abused life. Kids who are being abused will miss out on a lot of their childhood.    

         Being abused may be part of an every day thing for some people out there. You can stand up for yourself and go ahead, tell someone who you can really trust. They maybe close relatives, teachers, and your friends. You can do something about it, you’re not alone. So don’t be afraid. Kids or spouses who are being abused may think that it is the end of their world. It is not the end, you have a long life ahead and so much more in front of you, go and chase after it. Life is a beautiful thing, live it, love it, and laugh it all out. In the video Jennifer Lopez stood up for herself. She couldn’t lock him up because he is rich enough to bail himself out. He was so abusive, so she took her kid and went on the run. While she was on the run, she took a class. That class teaches her how to defend herself. That class taught her how to fight back, and face her abusive husband alone. At the end of the movie see finally faced him alone. She fought back and killed her husband. Killing her husband was not a good example for the whole world. Especially for young teens who are being abused. Killing your spouse or love one is not the solution to solve this problem. As for my opinion, I think that she should kill him. He had so much money so even if Jennifer did lock him up he’s going to bail himself out. Then that’s when he gets really mad and chase after her to kill. So killing is the solution to solve this kind of problem because no one can stop him not even the cops. This is a movie base on an everyday life. Learn how to defend yourself and fight back.
