Week #6
So, I feel that I had another tought week. The beginning and the end weren’t so bad, but the middle was pretty rough. I seemed to have gotten a stomach bug that lasted for about twenty four hours, however, it decided to linger for about another two days. My belief is that with all the stress fo school (finals around the corner…Yikes!) and the stress of life in general, my body decided to retaliate. I decided to take a much needed rest in the middle of the week, got a lot of much needed sleep and by the end of the week, I felt like I was back of track with a new fire! Here is my week six;
Monday:
Toning and advanced step today! Totaling about two and a half hours. Felt good and pretty energetic, even through the last hour. Am continuing with the heavier weights, Some times it seems easier, however, I think that sometimes everyone wonders; ‘When will this ever get easier?’
Tuesday:
Ran about a mile this morning, pretty tired. Around noon, my stomach started doing sommersaults, got home just in time. Was ill the rest of the night. Went to bed early to get some much needed rest.
Wednesday:
Felt a little bit better when I woke up, had some toast with PB & J and my stomach started doing the same thing as yesterday. Went to school and handed in my assignments that were due and immediately went home. I slept for about three hours, felt a little better. I couldn’t bear the idea of missing any more workouts, so I went to my toning and kickboxing classes. Surprisingly, I felt as good as new when I got home. Did a lot of jump roping today and a lot, I mean A LOT of lunges. Felt good though. It seems that my stomach does not like it when I eat full meals right now, so I will stick to mini ones for a while.
Thursday:
Took the day off. Thought it might be smart to rest after all that my body has been through in the past few days.
Friday:
Long run today. Not as long as I would have liked; six miles. However, I felt like that was better than nothing. Was hard to keep going at times, pretty tired, but I pushed through. My glutes still hurt from Wednesday, so I was anxious to get some lactic acid going…
Saturday:
Took the day off
Sunday:
Easy run today. Four miles, ran really easy. Ran quite a few hills, and experienced a pretty excruciating side ache. This told me I need to start running outside more. If only we would stop having these ’snow storms’!!!!!
Well, I hope everyone had a successful week! Hopefully I will be able to run more this week, I sure plan on it! All things considering, I am actually pretty pleased that I ran as much as I did this week. I feel that a big part of running, especially distance running, is knowing/learning how to push yourself. I learned some lessons in that area this week. (My silver lining). Good luck with week seven everybody!!!:)
