Reflection Paper

This semester of Comp 1 was filled with difficulties, achievements, and a  lot of interesting papers that I have written and what I have read of my group’s paper. This class has been a challenge for me but I was able to overcome this year’s difficulties, and I was able to achieve and learn from other people’s work.
I had a lot of trouble when it came to writing the papers. I struggled a lot with grammar, run on  sentences, and repeating myself.  It really made me feel worse as a writer because  I would have to redo my paper at least 3 or 4 times before and after the peer review to get it the way I wanted it to be. Writing doesn’t come natural to me, for me it is almost as if it is a foreign language and I am struggling to grasp it. Now towards the end of this semester I am feeling much more conferrable in my writing abilities and skills. I feel now that I can at least put together an okay paper.
Even with all the difficulties that I had during this semester I was able to come out with a lot of achievements with my papers. I felt that once I put my mind and effort to each paper I was able to come up with a good product in the end. I have all my papers saved from when I first wrote draft to the peer review to Steve’s notes to when I put it on my blog. I can see the difference from each paper and how each paper has improved. I have this great feeling now that I can write decently and not feel that my writing wasn’t very good. I have learned a lot in each paper which have turned into these few achievement that I accomplished this semester.
Each paper that I wrote was interesting because of all the different topics that I went of off. I tried to change each essay so that it would be special to me. I also enjoyed and learned a lot from reading other people’s paper in my peer group. I have read many different kind of stories that all related with the same topic. I found it very cool that even though we did have the same topic each individual story told something new. I learned a lot from each person in my peer group.
This semester has taught me on how to become a better writer in different ways. It taught me how to over come my difficulties, to exceed in my achievements, and to learn from my own and everyone else’s paper.

When I think of your growth over the last year, I’m amazed. You have become an articulate and powerful writer. I’m glad you’re more and more comfortable all the time. Go forth and write with confidence!
