“After dark, on the warrenlike streets of Brooklyn where I live, I often see women who fear the worst from me.”

This quote stuck out to me the most beacause it’s sad that women fear him because hes black more than they would dear a white person. They are fearing that he’s going to do something to them because of his skin color. Its predjustice aganist people who are of color. Its so sad that people would even think that. I dont understand how anybody could fear something or fear someone for nothing.

It is sad that some people can have a fear like this.

Well I think i would be a little scared if somebody…not just black…was walking behind me in a dark alley with his hands in his pockets. It still is sad to listen to his story about his life full of hardship over his skin color.

Malika. I know, the stories we read we very sad. there are still so many stereotypes and predjustices out there in the world and it is just because of the past. :( I agree in how I feel sad thinking about how it would feel to be treated that way. Its not fair and it really wrong.

I agree. There is a place to be cautious, but we shouldn’t judge people because of there color, race, or nationality.
