I found this quote to be good. On page 271 from chapte 6. “Kerry and Dean claim marrige is a matter for the church, while the proper whole for the state to is civil unions abd a guarantee of material benits. This argument makes lilttles sens to me. The ability of minister, prest, and rabbis to perform marriage ceremonies is granted by goverment, not by religions”. As I was reading form chaper 6 family and community I just think It should not matter what gender you are. Yes, in socity people will frown upon it, but come on. Agian they make a big deal about, if there are chirlden avoild with kind of upbring. Just so long that child is loved and is taking care of then it is not are bussiness. I think it is funny because there are children who are raised up with a mother and a farther and that is sometimes is worse.

What I have learned is, to be on top of my assignments and not to have them half done. What I mean by that is, to take my time and re-read what I wrote just to make sure my sentence is complete. Also to make sure, my grammar and punctuation are clear, which I still struggle with. I know I need to work on that more. Also I need to get better at the peer reviews. Therefore, I am not certain that I have learned anything yet. I always second guess myself, which could be my problem.

On page 166 Set your schedule, Found that to be inserting. ”he last step is to work out a schedule for finishing your research.  Your instructor will give you some of your deadlines, but you may need to set your own to ensure you are not underestimating how long your work will take”.  I know that this is so important to judge your time and set your time to do your research.  For me so far, I have been doing my homework last minute.  That is not how I like to do things.  Just been bad at judging my time lately,will it seemed to be that way. 

On page 167 Understanding the conversation on your subject.  Found this to be inserting.’You have many different research methods available to you, form analyzing written texts to observing human behavior.  These methods will create different research experiences.”

Telling the truth

 I think Alex was telling the truth about vacation in hawaii, then Megan was.  It seem like megan was scramming around in her chair and not answering the question clear,when she was put on the hot spot.  Alex was more calm and relax,when other peers was asking him questions,and had more information about staying in hawaii,.  While Meagan did not give a lot of information and it seemed that she was not sure.  For example, what hotel she was staying at, what beach she went too,just making up answer when she was being asked a question.  That is what I think.

Chapter 4

-As a community we need to volunteer more and help out our neighbors. If that is only two hours out of the week. If everyone did that then the community would be stronger as everybody dose their part to help out.

- French Mathematician Blasse once wrote, “The heart has its reason does not understand.” I thought this quote was interesting, because sometimes are emotions dose carry us away depending on the situation that we are facing. Our emotions can take over our judgments, and how we would not be thinking irrationally. I think a lot of people can expericance this in their life time. If I let my emotion take over me in a situation (which it has happed) I would not be thinking sight and would make the wrong decision for myself.

-”people grow be experiencing new things.” I thought this quote was insightful, because I think it is true on how people only grow be experiencing new things in their life’s which they apply with what they already new. For Example: If I never experience new things if your life how do you learn form your mistake. Then your life would be just plan Jane. I believe that you have to take courage of your life and put into situation that you would be uncomfortable in. Because you will grow as a person. I look back in my experience I would not be the same person if I did not try the things that I have. For example: Moving to Colorado and only knowing my roommate at first, until I started to meet the friends that I still talk too which it has been nine years ago. There were bad good choice that I made in the past and still do. I do not regret them one bit because I got to expericane new things. I learn from my mistakes and try not to repeat them. Iam who Iam

- I through the chapter was very long and some what boring. At different times I was drifting way form what I was reading.

I have learned that as a Lake Superior College student, that I need to talk to my adviser about how many classes to take at one time. For example: I went ahead this semester and pretty much all my semester and not talk to my adviser about what classes to take and how many. Here is the thing; I knew I still needed to take my generals, so I figure it was not a big deal not to set up an appointment to meet with adviser. I also thought I would push myself and take 10 credits and still work full-time. I can handle not a problem. Well I just laugh now, because for me that is a heavy load and just plane old carry, if you ask me! Some people can handle it; I’m not one of them. Also I have a learning disability. I have never have used the services (only the learning center) her at Lake Superior College have been on my own and doing good, but not this semester. If I went and talk to my adviser, I would not be struggling this bad and just being at float in my classes. That is my mistake. Since this reach paper, I have been talking to my adviser and the counselor. (Hidi)

I struggled at peer reviewing, I’m not good at how to make there papers good and give good advice for them. When I peer review the papers of my peers, is  I only hope that I might gave them something that they would work with, and  also benefit them to make their paper even better then it was.
When I was reading my peers paper, I was think how my paper could be better and crab the readers attention so that they would not lose their of interest of reading what I was writing. I know that is so important to not to do. Also how to make my paper flow a little bit better then I had it. Already knew what I needed to do to fix my paper in some degree

It is so important to know what you are reading and the writting is saying.  If iam reading something that I dont know I look it up and take notes.  I will also reread the pararph and try to put into my own words.  And highlight it what is important and what is not.

I was reading over Ben Franklins disussien on the 13 vrtues, As I was studding, honstly I have alot of weakness, and some sterngth in some of the sentece of the Vitres at the sametime. For example: Number 5, Make no expence but to do good to others or yourself: i.e. Wast nothing. I do see stength in myself to be good to others. Old saying, be treated the way you want to be treated yourself. I tend to treat other needs first then myself. That is my weakness right there. Then there is, number 2. Silence- speak not but what may benefit others ot your self.  Avoid trifling conversation.  I bad at making conversation and holding on to it.  I will go off and make no sence at all because I will skip around and go from on subject to the next and not make any senes at all.  This is what I need to work on.  I see some value that Ben Franklin kept a book of the daily weakness and the strength that he had during that week. It makes you aware as you right what you did and if you wasted the day away. You can kept track and do better the next day. Whatever that was. My pesonal opion, I would not have time to plot  through out the week. I think it is a good idea because it would be a good way to look back and see if you made any prosses or grained from it.

I was looking over the questions again, and was thinking can a person lie on the test and still get into our country? This is what stood out to me. I honestly do not get the Military questions. For example: Have you ever left the United States to avoid being drafted into the U.S. Armed forces? Because if you are filling out the answer that they are giving you, it would be like that you have never been an American citizen. This is what I think is what they are trying to get at is, if long time ago if that person was an American citizen and they went to another Country because they did not want to be drafted.

I was looking on page 22 and the what the saying meant. YOU ARE TOO STUPID to make you own food choices. This is what I came up with. It is your Right what you want to eat, but remember if you eat the high fatty foods you will be taxed. Not only that you have to know that it is not healthy for you and that you, have to be educated on what is healty and what is in the food. They think that is how you can get a person to make the right choice and eat healthier! I just laugh. We are the the only country that is overweight.

When I decide to come up to Duluth for college, the only people who I knew was on my Dads side of the family. I went to Century Community college and decided that I wanted to transfer to another college. See I was not to keen on century college, It was a good college in all, but was not for me. I went to Lake Superior College to check it out first. I liked what they offered here. So I packed up my things and left what I knew behide to start a new chapter in my life. I moved in with my cuisine and here three kids to help here out and the return was rent was very cheap for me. I knew nothing about kinds, but quickly learned fast. That was a shout to me because I thought I knew what I was getting into but I didn’t. Also I left my job that I knew very will and was paying me a good income, which was PetSmart. I knew that I did not want to stay in retail the rest of my life. I had to find another job which was offered to me the day I left my job, as a nutro rep. Later I found out that most job paid minim way.   I would do my demo with  Nutro products at Petco. I was at lost up at the store. Because I did not know any one and it was a culture stock to me. How they run their business compare to Petsmart. I have heard that from other people who has moved from the city too.
