One “Hot” topic in Minnesta is that the Minnesota smoke-free coalition is trying to pass the Freedom to Breath Act through the Minnesota legislator. The goal of this act would make all minnesota workplaces smoke free. This includes bars and resturants. The goal of the minnesota smoke-free coalition is to lessen second hand smoke for those in the work place that do not smoke and for those who just want to breath clean air. Those opposed say that since tobacco is leagal they shouldn’t ban it from so many places

Another “Hot” topic in Minnesota is how the DNR supports the efforts to de-list the timberwolf from the endagerd species list. On Jan. 29, 2007 the US Fish and Wildlife service stated that they would be removing the timberwolf from the endagerd species list. Minnisota has had a recovery of the wolf population over the last 16 years and the current population is above the recommended threshold for animals on the enagerd species list. Wolfs are harming cattle and the owners can not do anyhting about it. Others think that if the wolf is taken off the list that it will be shot for game and that may send the population of the deeep end.
