Honestly, I really don’t know what to say or where to begin with this topic. So here goes.

 What is so bad about two individuals of the same sex getting married. If it makes them happy, so be it. I bet if gay couples were able to get married, there would be a big drop in children in orphanages. And who’s say is it that a gay couple can’t parent children correctly or as good as hetero couples. I know some people who have some pretty crappy parents. In that second essay, the author talks about gay marriage leading to more crime in the streets. Now where is the proof for that. That is somebody’s assumption and I don’t take that to be credible. I think it is wrong to deny someone one of their basic rights just because they love a person of the same sex. If the government gave women the same rights as men, than why not give gay men the same rights as hetero men? Whats next, gays can’t vote?

I guess what I mean is this. We are in the 21st century. Times have changed. These things are going to happen no matter what kind of laws are imposed.

In this essay it talks about how sex sells. The way the media tells females how to look can make them become anorexic or bulemic. Yes this is a bad thing, but when reading it, something dawned on me. What is a worse way to die. Form not eating or eating too much/wrong foods. I think people can get addicted to eating just as, if not easier than not eating. Eating the wrong foods or too much can lead to diabetes and heart disease. Which in my eyes is a lot harder to fix than an addiction to throwing up. In a way i think that the media is doing this fat nation of ours a good thing. They may over do it, but in a way can it really be helping? We are the fattest nation on earth, and somebody needs to do something about it. Why not Victoria Secret? I think they are helping without even knowing it.

Wow, what a strong essay. i like the very end when he writes that he is a “hiker in bear country.” that is so true. I find it interesting the steps and precautions that he has to take just to feel like he is being perceived as a normal human being. Ive noticed if I am walking through the mall with a friend of mine who looks thugish, even though he is far from it, he gets a similar reaction from others. People will walk around him and not make eye contact. This is only a very small comparison  compared to the writers situation, but i almost understand where he is coming from. I really enjoyed reading it.

Wow. That was an excellent essay. Bravo Steve. I thought it was really interesting how he classified the students by different kinds of m & m’s. I would personally have to say I’m a plain one. It’s hard to admit but I am.

I’m sure some of you got lucky and left on spring break and completely missed the snow. But I’m sure a majority of us got the blunt end of it. It really sucked for me. I worked the night of it and was supposed to get off that morning, but instead i got off the next morning. No one else could make it in. Then to top it off, I had to shovel waist deep snow from the road to my front door, just to get in, so I could let my poor starving dogs out for the first time. That storm sucked. I think thats all i have to say about it.

I don’t know what to blog, especially since i was put on the spot and made to blog. Nothing comes to mind at the moment. Except the word blog. What a wierd word. Speaking of wierd words. The word ‘wierd’ is a wierd word. Where the heck did that word come from. I know it was some guys last name, but I don’t know what he did or who he was. Not only does the word look wierd, but it also sounds wierd. Try saying it out loud. It doesn’t sound like it should be in the english language.

What is everyone doing for spring break? I get to stay home and work all week. which sounds like fun!

I thought that this essay was funny. It is also sad and true. When I get up in the morning for school or for work, I really don’t care what I look like. All I need to do is brush my teeth and splash some water on my face and Ill be fine. This essay also explains why I am so glad not to be a girl and get caught up in the fashion, styles, etc. Just the thought makes my head hurt.

What did everyone do last weekend? Besides stay inside from the bitter cold.

I went to a mixed martial arts fight on saturday night, and it was sweet. Well, most of it was sweet. There was at least a dozen fights, but most of them only lasted 30 sec. or so, and the tickets were kinda pricey.

Also, I bowled in a baker’s double tourney on sunday morning with my roomy. We sucked though. Got 29th out of somewhere around 50. 10 games of bowling are a lot tougher than it sounds. I still hurt 4 days later. It was my first tourney and I am happy with my results.
