Jackie Robinson

The person that I would want to interview that is no longer living would be Jackie Robinson who most of you know was the first African American to play baseball in the major leagues. The reason that I would want to interview Jackie is because I have always been a huge fan of baseball, so obviously there is some common ground between us. I would try and get information about his childhood, and where he learned to play baseball. I’ would also try and find out who some of his role models were growing up. I would ask him questions like,”How did you put up with all the racism while playing?” Another question I would ask is, “How does it feel to be a pioneer, being the first African in the majors?” Also I would ask the question, “How did all of this affect your family?” These questions probably seem obvious, and are probably the questions that many people would ask, but they are so significant, so that’s why I’d ask them.

Did you know that Steve wrote about Jackie Robinson, too? I just read his posting… crazy! Well, like I told him, Robinson would be a fascinating person to interview. I especially liked the question about role models; looking at who our heroes admired shows us that everyone starts somewhere. Good post.
