We were at the state wrestling tournament. We had mad it to the finals but it wasnt an easy road to get there. The first day of the tournament we had wrestled a team from Hutchinson. We had beat them by like twelve points but I had to bump up a weight class to wrestle heavy weight from two hundred and fifteen pounds the kid I happened to wrestle the second ranked kid in the nation at heavy weight. I didnt do so well I mad it half way through the first period then I lost. Then the second day of the tournament we had to wrestle Centennial this time we put the hurt on them but I had the hardest match in the duel I had to wrestle the number one ranked kid in the nation. Needless to say I didnt last that long I lost again in the first period by know Im getting very frustrated. Then to make things worst I find out that the team we are wrestling in the finals was ranked second all year and everyone thought they could beat us the I find out that the kid I have to wrestle had just taken third in the individual tournament. So all the coaches call all the wrestlers in there room one at a time for a meeting. My meeting tuck about a half hour they were giving me advice and trying to boost my confidence then we watched some film on him. that didnt exactly help he looked like he was a good wrestler. Well the day had come the third and final day of the state tourney. The score is close and my friend wins his match at 189 so know I am up. I striped down to my singlet and as I was walking over to the check in table one of the wrestling coaches walked with me the whole way. I thought he was going to wrestle for me. Any way we shuck hands and the ref blew his whistle and the battle started. For the period we were tied up in a collar tie to size each other up. The second period started and he chose down and got away then I took a shot (single leg) and took him down. I rap my legs around his so he couldnt get up then I did a move called a power half thats where I put my left forearm on the back of his head and then with my right arm I put it under his right arm and start wrenching and to my surprise he was going to his back. The ref counted to five so I got my three points the I arched my back up and I put my hips down and I herd the ref slap the mat I had pined the number three kid in the state. I was so exited I was yelling all my muscles tensed up. All the fans in the x-l energy center were on there feet cheering. That had put the nail in the coffin it didnt matter if the heavy weight won or not we were state champs. The heavy weight Trevor Laws, pined his kid in the first period. After we won the state tourney I felt the worlds pressure lift off my shoulders and I could finally relax.
