Classification

Jimmie Irwin Essay 3 Group 10 pr3 3/19/07 Classification There are many types of students in high school that can be easily classified in many different types of groups. There are 3 main types including slackers, copycat, and nerds. They are each unique in their own view of their education. All though there are people who thrive to do the best that they can do, there will be others that would succeed by doing the least that they can do. Slackers can be smart student, but choose to take the easy way through. I can say that because as I am smart I have chosen easy ways through something say I dont like as an example English. Slackers look to get though things as easy/quickly as they can because, they may not be good at what they are suppose to be doing or they may not care for what they doing, as in say gym, they may not be good at sport or anything like that but, it a requirement that they have to do so they will slack though it just to get it done and over with. See lots of people if not all have slack through some things that they have not liked or dont really care for but, not consider themselves slackers when they really are. Copycat can be called slackers because; they will cheat to get ahead, like copy other peoples assignment, while in other ways they will copy other people if they think that it will help them get ahead, like there might be a student that the teacher may like and the copycat person will copy him/her to see if the teacher might like him/her. Lot of students 
have some type of copycat in them maybe not in like cheating but coping other people to be like them, like jocks, some will try to be like them, just to be part of the jock cult. Last but not least there are the nerds. They are probably the most common group of student, as they are harasses, picked on, and the most helping student there is even with being harasses and picked on. Nerds are mostly the top student in their class and mostly becomes mathematical and scientist type jobs. Look at Bill Gates he was a nerd in high school and even in college and he invented Microsoft. Not all nerds might go in to high paying jobs but, while in school they still are trying to succeed the best that they can do. There probably a lot of people who can see themselves in these categories. I know that for one, I can see myself in all these categories; I slack though things that I dont like nor I‘m not good at, copy other people just to be part of their cult, and nerd as trying to succeed to be able to get in to a rewarding profession. So as you have read this I hope you have gotten a good glimpse in to the world of education in other student minds. There will always be people that will try to thrive to be the best that they can be, while there others that will do just enough to get by.
