Crash

The movie crash was interesting and opened an opportunity to enjoy popcorn and root beer, but I failed to understand the concernment of the plot to the lives of college students. The lewd behavior and language served only to disillusion the viewer from the purpose of the film and its benefits. The popcorn was better for the college student then the movie.

My blogging responce to the gay stories

I tended to favor the opinion of Charles Colson and Anne Morse, the moment you brake the traditional marriage order you invite chaos. Once you legalize gay marriage you have no ground to stand on when some freak decides he wants to marry a donkey! Some might disagree with the philosophy of traditions but i believe that you need a sense of stability to feel in control and safe in you life and social envirenment. Now that we have congress changing all of the solid points in our constitution and amendments an American who cares enough about the world around them is always trapped in a situation where they feel the walls of societal truths and undertanding crumbling around them. I worry about the world that my children will be raised in. I no longer have the assurance that they will be able to go to school without being punished for a religious belief and background, while they’re forced to observe muslim holidays. If we the people of America stand by while our constitution is being torn in pieces right under our noses we will enevitable have to shake hands with our neighbor and except the wedding invitation for her and her pet dog!

Logical Fallacy 101

easy to be sucked in because the outside appears to be logical. (Cam I really get away with writing so little??) :)

just Walk

I related with the story when i remembered walking around down town st. paul at six in the morning. There was an uncanny fear that gripped me when i passed a colored person with baggy clothes. technically, he would be no different then any other stranger, but stereotyping brought alot of fear.

M&M’s

boy those m&m’s were good!! So, now I’m blogging on what I read. If I really was into it and I was a peanut student i would be overjoyed at the added on oppertunity to write for my class, as it is my blooging capibilities spit me out as a plain, very plain, m&m. I would like defend myself though. Blogging has absolutly nothing to do with class so wheather i love it or participate begrugingly, I still love the basic idea behind comp class. Your NOT going to find me with three seperate rough drafts, but I doo spend at least 3-5 hours on my first.

hope nobody actually read this…

a sample piece of a story I started

Ever since she was a little girl, heels had fascinated her. When her mother would go to work and leave her with her babysitter, Jenny, she would patiently wait until Jenny had received her traditional phone call from her boyfriend and set her in front of the TV. While she was distracted, Mary would sneak away from the television and go to her mother’s room. She always bypassed her mom’s silky dresses and pretty hats and went straight to her shoes. Her Favorite was her moms red ones with the big black bow on the toe. By the time Mary was nine she had decided that when she grew up she would wear pretty shoes. Little did she know that the shoes would be her only enjoyment in her career.      1:oo in the afternoon and her stomach was growling so loud she feared that someone would escort her out for disturbing the peace. She had to get her project done concerning the companies budget on the yarn that they were using in China compared to the price in Taiwan. This had to be done by 2:oo and she had some major set backs. To top her frustration with the short people across the pacific, the fax on her floor stopped working so she was stuck running up the stairs every 10 minutes to collect the records they sent from Taiwan. While she was sending in her request for a couple more documents her mind wondered over to how excited she was to get this job right out of college. It was supposed to be the opportunity of a lifetime, and sometimes she wished that she worked at Target.      Target couldn’t really be that bad after all. Everybody wears matching shirts and pants so you never have to worry about your clothes. You get slightly more flexible hours, and you don’t ever have to take your work home with you.

I loath blogging

I’m really starting to think that I loath blogging more then any other human on this very earth! When I was a kid you couldn’t force me to blog, or touch the keys on a keyboard, if my life depended on it!! Once, one of my best friends came over and set up an e-mail account in my name, and i still never used it. I hate blogging!!

Well, against my better wishes, Dalager has placed me in my enimate hell in front of a key board. My head is currently swimming with ideas about politics and the latest scientific journal posts, but it would take more then a couple minuets to lay out my sceams concerning that.

old words

I’m not sure the limitations of a blog, but I came across the words to a very old hymn and they touched me. At the moment I’m trying to piece together a kinda new song using these words. I hope you like them!!

Through the night of doubt and sorrow onward goes the pilgrim band

Singing songs of expectation marching to the promise land

Clear before us through the darkness gleams and burns the guiding light

Brother clasp the hand of brother stepping fearless through the night

One the light of Gods own presence o’re His ransomed people shed

Chasing far the gloom and terror brightening all the path we tread

One the object of our journey one the faith which never tires

One the earnest looking forward one the hope our God inspires

One the strain that lips of thousand lift as from the heart of one

One the conflict one the peril one the march in God begun

One the gladness of rejoicing one the far eternal shore

Where the one almightily father reigns in love forever more

Onward therefore pilgrim brothers onward with the cross our aid

Bear its shame and fight its battle ’till we rest beneath its shade

Soon shall come the great awaking soon the rending of the tomb

Then the scattering of all shadows and the end of toil and gloom

Through the night of doubt and sorrow onward goes the pilgrim band

The Ugly Truth about Beauty

I found the ugly truth about beauty very entertaining. I couldn’t help but laugh and giggle at Dave Barry’s interesting comparisons between the cave men and us much more sophisticated women. Sad yet true, many of his observations were correct, but i do think that the big wings on the Buzz Off action figure make his hips look smaller in comparison but it does make his butt look roburst. May be should write something on the irony of watching sports on t.v., that make absolutly no sense at all!

My thoughs on stem cell research.

I suppose this is kinda out there consitering blogs, but I’ve never done this before.

My little sister has been pleaged with the worst possible luck concering her health, she has a dormint case of lukinia and a severe case of down syndrom. One day while i was listening to the radio, they announce that there has been great progress in the workings of umbilical cord stem cells. They recently tested a child with serible palsy and the results were amazing. The child’s vocabulary and ability to communicate with others increased significantly, and more important, the childs ability to logically think out every day problems had increases by great numbers.

Upon hearing this i went into a study of my own. They are currently working with the new stem cells in hopes to help children with down syndrom. They are very optimistic! With this new tecnology my little esister might have the oppertunity to have a better life.

I’ll probably write alot more on this subject later. Think of this as an introduction. :)
