Hey,

Great to hear you are feeling good post half and gearing up for other ventures this spring. You should plan a marathon. To do it right, you need 6 mos of specific training and at least a year of running and being active . You have the first 6 mos in nearly--now you could pick a race this winter or coming spring and start to get ready. The marathon is a totally different animal than the half. You can't fudge on the training at all. You have to be super fit just to get through it and your long runs in or 20 miles or more. I'm excited for you that the half has got you thinking about what is possible with more training and time on your legs.

Great Run!

You were bound to get sore from that. Even if you had done some 20 milers before the race, you would get tired and stiff. It inevitably happens in a longr race. I'll be hobbling around after Grandmas half--you watch. I hope you still plan to participate in the class even though you are done with your race. Keep me posted how you are recovering.

Wow..it is tomorrow. Get plenty of rest--put your feet up! Let me know how it goes. Do not go out too hard!! Feel like you are really jogging slowly in the first half. If you feel good, push it in the second half. Don't get yourself in trouble early.

Hi,

I can't believe you were running in tennis shoes. What has your training looked like? Do you feel ready for the half?
