Struggling For Perfection

“These people were truly at rock bottom, considered by many to be incurable. Their eating disorders had consumed them entirely, leaving no trace of the vibrant, intelligent people that once inhabited their niw skeletal bodies.”
This passage sounds really strong to me. Rock bottom is pretty low. Actually the lowest. I like that they used the term rock bottom. Anything else just wouldn’t fit there. It wouldn’t have the same impact as it does. The way the writer worded it is perfect. They described people with eating disorders so that you can picture exactly how they are or look. I like that.

Bein A Cripple

“Being A Cripple” was a great story. I particularly liked the ending. I love how the author was such a strong person. She knew what she believed, and she stuck with her reasonings. She called herself what she wanted, and not what othrers wanted her to be called.
“Guess which woman I hope to be.” I loved this line. I read it and thought that it was so awesome. It just sounds so strong. I don’t know it just really stood out to me when I read it.
Lee & Me

I chose the first passage.
“Sixth grade Phy. Ed. atFranklin
Middle School was pretty traumatic for some of us - me in particular. I was the non-athletic type, mostly because I couldn’t see too well. From birth I’ve had detached retinas, which in junior high terms means I was the kid that waved his arms wildly when the battle balls came flying at me, only to have them hit my face and send my black glasses skittering across the gym floor. I was always in search of a good piece of masking tape.”
I chose this passage because I also used to have glasses. Well I still do, but now I wear contacts. In gym, volleyball, basketball, softball, and other activities I was always worried about my glasses getting broken. Or when we would play a basketball game I would be running and my glasses would fog up! Haha, it is kind of funny now that I think back on it. I love contacts! They rock my world. Hehe.
This passage is important to me because I think it relates to a lot of young people. If you look around these days you will notice that many people have glasses. They may have gone through the same thing that this boy went through.
The thesis statement in my opinion would be “I was always in search of a good peice of masking tape.” I’m not really sure what the thesis would be, but I did have a guess.
Hello world!
