Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl
There have been many good movies over the past couple of years. Some movies are good for kids while others are just for adults. There are few good movies that everyone can enjoy. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl, is one of those movies. Pirates, is a good movie to watch because it is well rounded. It has intense action scenes, as well as, great special effects. Johnny Depp keeps you laughing playing drunken pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. This movie is so well rounded that it also plays out to be quite the love story.
The action scenes in the movie are exciting because there are sea battles and land invasions, so you get a variety of scenes. There are pirates flying around on ropes with swords and others having hand to hand combat. The pirates will stop at nothing to get their ship, the Black Pearl, back. There are long sword duels that get you to the edge of your seat. During this movie the action never stops.
The special effects in Pirates of the Caribbean, add a lot to the movie. The way they make the cursed pirates turn into skeletons in the moon light is amazing. The special effects also add to the fight scenes. In the sword duel, the two fighting do some pretty amazing things. Also, in the ship battles the special effects are great. They show the pirates shooting without any cannon balls left shooting whatever they have out of the cannons, like silverware or anything else they could find.
Johnny Depp plays a hilarious pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. He almost single handedly makes this movie funny. Depp plays the role of a pirate to perfection. The humor in the movie just adds to the action and special effects. It takes the movie to the next level. It makes it a well rounded movie. The action keeps you on the edge of the seat while the comedy can make you laugh at the same time. Captain Jack isn’t the only funny character in this movie though; two of the cursed pirates are quite funny themselves.
Another reason why people should watch pirates is because it is good for all ages. The action is not too graphic for kids but good enough to keep adults interested. The humor in the movie is funny for both young and old. There isn’t any profanity in the whole movie. These types of movies are hard to come by because most parents are not interested in what there children like to watch. Also, most parents don’t let there children watch the same movies they do because of violence and vulgar language.
College students can relate to the movie through the romance. Many college students are involved in some kind of romantic relationship. In this movie the viewer gets to see just how far love can take you. William, a blacksmith, chases the love of his life all around the
Caribbean, risking his life to try and save her. He shows tremendous bravery in rescuing her from the cursed pirates.
Some people might say that this movie isn’t “serious”, enough to be important for college students to watch. I believe it is because at this point in the year students may need a movie that they can just sit and enjoy. With finals and big project due soon, there is much stress on a college student. Watching Pirates of the
Caribbean would work as a good stress relief for many students.
Watching this movie in class would be good for everyone because people need to see movies that are good even though there is not gore or profanity. Pirates of the Caribbean; is one of the most well rounded movies that I have ever seen. It is an action movie that makes people laugh. It has crazy special effects that make the land and water battles thrilling. The love story is exciting and should make everyone think about what they would do for the love of there life. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl; is a movie that all types of different people, young and old, can enjoy.
