The Duluth City Council wants to take a larger cut of the revenue of the event, but the founder and vice president of the evnt says this action could destroy the festival. The City Council proposed that the city issues a fee on each ticket, but the event coordinators would rather pay a flat rental fee for the land to preserve the event.
Topic two: Duluth City Council votes to withdrawl Minnesota troops from Iraq
The council voted 6-2 to do so, citing lack of success. Opponents argue that this vote could adversely affect the future of the 148th Fighter Wing, and that it is not “city business.”
