The Dare
“But as a seventh grader struggling to make the cut in a tough Atlanta grammar school, all it took was a dare. I chose this quote because it shows how far some people will go to fit in. Another reason I chose this quote is because a lot of people can relate to the situation. For example, I felt the ‘need’ to fit in in high school and I occasionally thought of going out of my confort zone just to be accepted and fit in.
I enjoyed reading this essay and I feel its important because at some point in your life you have to deal with peer pressure and the wanting to fit in. I feel that personal experience is helpful to a reader and it helps them stay engaged. I think the writer’s point is that no matter who you are, how smart, or how average, you can always be a victim of peer pressure.

I agree with what your saying. Its hard how some people think being cool is worth doing dares and things that could acutally hurt themselves for what a couple years of “popularity” out of high school popularity doesnt matter and it shouldnt matter in high school
