Carl Rogers and the Rogerian Model:

The five steps in the chapter, is this the way were suppose to be setting up our papers? Is it some kind of outline? Or is the constructing an argument the outline?

Carl Rogers is a psychologist who showed a great approach to therapy; client-centered. Its just amazing how he brought that into an argumentive model. With this paper you have to be focused on the subject, but still having your opinions. Your trying to acheive a solution, but not to change the world. The essay about sexual harrassment seemed very informing. It showed a great way to overall display an aggreement without picking sides. It seems so easy, but I know its going to be quite hard to acheive. This chapter on Rogerian model has helped me to understand how to come about this paper. I still am confused though. This reading on rhetoric is very easy to interpret, but its hard to make an argument thats going to be as little opinionated as possible.

Is it okay if I talk to you (kelli) after class tomorrow so that I can come up with an appropriate subject to talk about?

I was thinking about doing my paper on abortion. I believe it is one of the top 12 subjects were NOT suppose to disscus. I just think that picking a subject that your neutral on would be a better idea for this paper. I want to start on this as early as possible.

  1. Of course we can chat! You could even bring it up in class; working through your question might help others in the same boat.
