Introduction essay
Introductory
Ever since I reached the level to start writing essays, I have hated it. I guess you could say that most people don’t enjoy writing essays or long papers. During this last semester I’ve written more essays than I ever had in one semester. This class has helped me in many ways and I have learned many things in the past semester.
All my life I have always had a tough time connecting with English class. This last semester I have noticed my English skills getting better. This class has helped me in many ways. During this last semester I have definitely increased my grammar skills. I have become a much better writer and reader as well. I was never much of a reader, but since I have been reading the chapters in our text book, I’ve noticed that it’s much easier to understand what I’m reading. One major tip that I picked up from the text book is to write about something you can relate to. All of the topics that I chose to write about were things that I’m familiar with, such as smoking. When you are writing about something you know or like, then writing becomes much more enjoyable. As the semester went by, I began to realize that I don’t hate writing that much. That is probably why my favorite paper was essay 5 and my least favorite was essay 1. All aspects of my writing skills have increased greatly. My writing skills are not the only thing that I have improved. I am also speaking more correctly. There are many reasons why I have learned so much this semester. Not only is Mr. Dalager a great instructor, (not trying to suck up) the methods he uses are very effective. One method that I really enjoyed was exercise central to go. Students need routine quizzes on college grammar. The best part of exercise central to go is that you can retake the quizzes. Obviously, everyone is going to like it because you can take the quiz over and over until you get 100%, but for me, retaking the quiz just helped me understand.
This class has definitely helped me develop into more than just a better writer. I have honestly noticed some major improvements in all of my English skills. I have become more of a complete student because of this class. Thanks to this class, I am very confident that I can succeed in more difficult classes.
